About Mārtiņš Sesks
Popular, passionate, and blisteringly quick - Mārtiņš Sesks is Latvia’s rallying sensation, rapidly rising through the ranks to make his mark on the world stage.
Born in Liepāja on 18 September 1999, motorsport runs deep in his veins - his father, Uldis Sesks, was both a rally driver and a long-serving mayor of their hometown, Liepāja.
Sesks’ competitive journey began in 2014 in a Honda Civic Type R, but it was in 2018 that he truly announced himself. He dominated the FIA ERC3 Junior Championship, clinching the title in style and earning his first WRC start at Rallye Deutschland the same year.
From 2019 to 2021, he honed his craft in the Junior WRC, regularly battling for stage wins and podiums. His aggressive yet calculated approach turned heads as he stepped up to Rally2 machinery, where he continued to impress with victories in the FIA European Rally Championship.
In 2024, Sesks made his much-anticipated Rally1 debut with M-Sport Ford, piloting a non-hybrid Puma Rally1 at Rally Poland. He wasted no time in proving his potential, storming to a superb fifth-place finish. At Rally Latvia, he sent home fans into raptures with two stage wins and a podium charge, only for a cruel mechanical failure on the final test to end his dream result. A double puncture in Chile cut short his third outing, but his raw pace was unquestionable.
M-Sport Ford doubled down on its belief in the Latvian star, handing him a six-round campaign in 2025 - starting with Rally Sweden. Alongside co-driver Renārs Francis, Sesks is determined to keep his foot to the floor and cement his place among the WRC’s elite.
